About Badger Mining and Consulting
HISTORY
In 1995, following several years of an ad hoc association on a number of feasibility studies and other mining projects, the current director of Badger Mining & Consulting consolidated the endeavors and individual mining related skills of a number of specialist consultants into a single organization.
SKILLS AND RESOURCES
Included in the ranks of BM&C specialists are certificated mine managers (metalliferous and coal), mining engineering graduates and diplomats including various specialist disciplines certificated mechanical and electrical engineers, metallurgists and geologists.
These experts have extensive experience in the Southern African and overseas mining industries, where all have gained "hands on" and management experience in the mining of precious metals (gold and platinum group), diamonds, base metals (including chrome) and coal mining.
The company also provides a wide range of electronic drafting (CAD) facilities.
To facilitate geological modelling and mine scheduling, BM&C has established strong links with a number of digital modelling organizations.
CONSULTING
BM&C have achieved recognition in the field of consulting, where the company's diverse skills have been ably applied in a variety of studies and evaluations. These include:

As part of BM&C's consulting services the company has successfully worked with business advisory companies, various merchant banks, Johannesburg Stock Exchange brokers and legal advisors to facilitate corporate activities i.e. mergers, acquisitions and stock exchange listings.
BM&C's staff includes members in good standing of internationally recognised professional bodies (South African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy) and registered professional engineers and natural scientists (Engineering Council of South Africa).
MANAGEMENT
BM&C are recognised as having successfully introduced the concept of outsourcing or partnering in the South African underground coal mining industry by employing their "Keystone to Success" philosophy. This concept was introduced at Forzando Coal Mine on its establishment in 1995 and is now well proven and successful.
BM&C have to date successfully implemented this philosophy on a number of other operating mines, both coal and metal, and underground and opencast where apart from day to day management control, the company provides a complete suite of technical support skills.
BM&C's role includes the supply of legal appointments in terms of the Minerals Act and Regulations and the Mines Health and Safety Act.
CONCLUSION
BM&C's incursion into the mineral resource industry during the last fifteen years has seen the company achieve commissions in mine management and technical services as well as a variety of consulting appointments.
